I received an e-mail the other day from my son’s music teacher. She wanted to have a conference about his work in her class. I was surprised by this because my son is academically gifted and conferences are not the norm. I e-mailed back and arranged a meeting.

When I arrived for the conference, the teacher immediately assured me that my son was doing well in her class. I didn’t have long to wait to find out why I had been summoned for a meeting. It turns out my son is a talented musician. This was a pleasant surprise.

When I asked what instrument he played well, she said he played several instruments, including the violin. This was a shock as I never knew he played any instruments. The teacher asked if I would be willing to let my son work toward a career in music. She believed his best path would be studying to become an electric violinist Manchester. I told her I would think about it, but I don’t believe there is any hurry as he is only ten-years-old.
